Jesus’ approach to trials

JUST TO UPDATE

We were scheduled to leave from training camp on Sunday June 8th, we took a layover to Newark, New Jersey. Our next flight out to Guatemala was canceled amidst a volcanic eruption at one of the main volcanoes, Fuego. It took the power out of the airport so there were no lights. When we were in the airport staying the night, unsure of if we were going to have a flight the next day, and our crew leaders were figuring out the details of what to do, we worshipped. We got in the baggage claim area with all our bags out and had the idea of being like the apostles worshipping in prison. It was surreal!! But this really seemed like Jesus’ way of dealing through trials. Going to him, going to the Father, and letting the Holy Spirit have control. One of the things I’ve noticed is that in union with the trinity, they love eachother and are teaching us this love they have for eachother and us. It surpasses strife, and takes away anxiety.

I think of James 1 and it says rejoice when you go through trials of various kinds! Thinking of this we’ve had to implement joy into our mission in various ways. It has been unexpected and that feels like a prophecy that was given when my friends prayed over me before the trip, “help Zachary’s team to expect the unexpected.”

We’re now in Guatemala right by Antigua in Chime, doing ministry work which ill update as well, I’ll be posting more pictures and updates along the way.

This week has been busy and good!
